Challenge

The challenge involved creating a Nike Bauhaus Edition website that celebrates Bauhaus design, highlighting the harmonious blend of art and function in the Nike Air Max 270 React shoes, all while embodying Bauhaus principles

This is a remaster of a project I did back in 2019, with a similar goal but a holistic approach that made it possible to have a more comprehensive solution. Over four years later, I wanted to capture the essence of a design movement that was extremely relevant in the upcoming years, just as this project's first edition was for me

Goal

The project's primary aim was to express gratitude to Bauhaus visionaries and celebrate the dedication of the Nike team, seamlessly fusing boldness with Bauhaus principles. It aimed to provide users with an outstanding customer experience in line with Bauhaus design.

Solution

The project took a comprehensive approach, integrating UX/UI design, After Effects animations, sound design for the animation and 3D rendering for effective visuals. Thorough development preparation ensured a deep understanding, while collaboration with external partners provided 3D models, and working closely with the developer guaranteed functionality.

The platform celebrated Bauhaus through captivating imagery and storytelling, presenting the Nike Bauhaus Edition memorably and inspiringly.
Enjoy it!

Nike x The Bauhaus

The challenge was to create a Nike Bauhaus Edition website that honors the Bauhaus art movement while showcasing the fusion of art and functionality in the Nike Air Max 270 React shoes.

Through an immersion in understanding both sides: Nike and The Bauhaus, the design solution answers many questions that came to mind while designing it, such as: How to embody the Bauhaus ideas and principles? // Where's the inspiration coming from? // What's the cultural context? // Why is it relevant? // How to connect the concepts with the product? // What's the customer experience like? // Etc.

This is a remaster of a project done back in 2019, with a similar goal but a holistic approach that made it possible to have a more comprehensive solution. Over four years later, the idea was to capture the essence of a design movement that remains extremely relevant in the years to come

The outcome

To achieve the final result for the website, the following was done:

·UX/UI design, encompassing user flows, strategy, reference gathering, and visual creation.
·Animation using After Effects to establish a connection between the brand and its iconography.
·Sound design for the animations.
·3D rendering to effectively showcase the results.
·Preparation for development handoff, which involved discussions with our developer, organization of visuals, iconography, typography, and prototypes to facilitate an understanding of each element and interaction.
·Collaboration with external partners to obtain 3D models of the sneakers and the Bauhaus chair.

Why Bauhaus?

This project is, in essence, a way to pay homage to a design movement that is still relevant almost 100 years later. It's a way of expressing gratitude to the great individuals who collaborated to shape this way of thinking. It's also a note of thanks to the designers and professionals at Nike who worked to create a product that is both bold and respectful of The Bauhaus.

With all that love for design and respect for others' work, we hope you enjoy -like we do- this small tribute to the Bauhaus, made with great care.
